Best Surprise

I can't believe it! Marty and the kids all knew that my dear friend Jorge and his sister Ruth were going to be here and I had no idea! I was busy all day working on Christmas stuff and Marty proceeded to get my laundry done and the house totally picked up. (I just thought he was being such a good elf)

It was so great to see Jorge and really spend some time chatting. Brennan stopped by after work and Wendy came over, too.

This was such a great start to the Christmas holiday!!

Here I go again...

Well, I guess it's only been a couple years since I last posted a blog. Haha. It just seems like I have so many things I'd like to express but Facebook isn't the right outlet. This blog will be more personal and only people that do have an interest will follow it. Rather than "friends" on Facebook that couldn't really care less.
So, welcome on this journey with me!

Being Mom

This is just part of my emotional status at Christmastime...I don't really know how to rephrase it, so I'll just copy and paste an email I just sent to my mom.  I'm sure lots of people can relate...

Hi Mama!

I just wanted to tell you I love you and thanks for being my mom!  I've spent the day today on my own, working on Christmas stuff.  I got my Christmas cards ordered, I'm listening to Christmas music, it smells good, been wrapping presents.  This season makes me quite reminiscent and emotional, you know! :)  So...I was wrapping presents for the kids, and I got some ideas of other things I want to do for them for Christmas, and thinking about how much I just want them to have everything their heart's desire. Physically and emotionally.  And then I realized that these are all the same emotions I'm sure you go through as well.  It's easy for me to get caught up in being the "mom", but you're a mom too.  And you're my mom.  And I thank you!!

I love you!

Thinking

I don't know if many people know this about me, but when the holiday season comes around I get very sentimental and nostalgic.  Probably not unlike many others, but I'm really getting the urge to start getting some thoughts written down.

I'm gonna do a Christmas Blog letter this year, rather than mailing it out. Details will be coming soon.  I'm also going to start blogging again on a regular basis.  I just have so many ideas and thoughts that I get overwhelmed by it all.  Maybe if I start blogging all this I can process it more easily.

Stay tuned....
